Investment Banking Intern
If you are pursuing a career in the exciting and lucrative world of investment banking, you will need to work as an intern. This will prepare you for your career and give you valuable real world experience. However becoming an investment banking intern certainly isn't the easiest thing to do. It takes education, dedication and hard work to succeed. Internships are often in high demand, especially with high profile, big city firms. These firms have limited internships and must be very selective. Many interns are turned down for their first choice and end up interning elsewhere.
Summer internships at investment banking firms are big. If you land one of these internships you can count yourself lucky. The two main reasons for these internships is to prepare for the job and work your way into the company. If you do a good job as an intern the firm may consider you for a full time position after you've completed your education. The best interns can get high paying job offers and have them waiting for after graduation. If you are able to do this you can enjoy your college years knowing your future is secure.
Being an intern is hard work. You have to arrive early and leave late. Workloads are heavy and stress is high. You may even pull some all nighters. It is important to give 110 percent when interning because you only have a short period of time to make an impression on the company. Your personality counts as well as your job skills. If you conduct yourself in a considerate, professional manner and don't forget to smile you will make an impression. A good personality combined with good work equals a higher chance of a full-time offer. Which would definitely make the long hours worth every minute.
